Yankees clear Jeter to being rehab assignment
New York (KETK) — New York superstar shortstop, Derek Jeter, 39, has been cleared by the Yankees to begin his rehabilitation assignment.
Jeter, the captain of the Yankess ball club, has been out all season after breaking his ankle in the American League Championship series opener on October 13, 2012.
After spring training in April, a second break was found on Jeter's ankle.
Jeter is hoping to return to the Yankees following the all-star break.
Jeter will play at least five innings with Triple-A Scranton on Saturday.
