TYLER-A Barbecue grill starts a house fire in Tyler. It happened Monday morning in the 500 block of South Hill street.

The Tyler Fire Marshal said the family used their barbecue grill over the weekend and the coals inside the grill were still hot. They say some plastic containers of clothes next to the grill ignited and caught the side of the house on fire. No one was at home at the time of the fire. Neighbors who reported the fire helped control it with water hoses before fire fighters arrived.

The Fire Marshall says the best way to prevent fires like this is keep barbecue grills away from combustible items.
