LONGVIEW---Hallsville I.S.D. is one of the only schools in the country using iPods to teach students, and pretty soon every student in that district may get to use them.

Right now there are four classes of second graders and two classes of high school freshmen who use iPod Nanos and iTouch to learn lessons.

Teachers at the school say it puts these students at an equal level with each other as far as technology goes.

That way, if there's a student who doesn't have internet or computer access at home, they can use these hand-held devices.

Teachers say they've really noticed a change in how quickly the students learn and how well they behave in class.

"How quiet they are because they're focusing on their material," says Toni Erickson.

"They're excited about learning. They're asking everyday. What do we have new on our iPod?" Jamie Wright says.
