The Longview City Council took a look at some of the signs, with electronic moving images Monday.
Business owners are proud of their purchase, but are the signs a distraction to drivers ?
"You can catch yourself 'reading' instead of driving," This person says. "Add cell phones, eating in your car, putting on makeup, and 'reading a scrolling message' and you have a quick recipe for a good wreck."
Pamela counters:
"I rather enjoy the electronic billboards that are placed where they can be seen at red lights. It gives me something to read. I really love them. Maybe i should be in Vegas ?"
Topic number 2 - "IPODS in the classroom."
Students in Hallsville have them, and love them. We asked you if you agreed with this mode of education.
Joseph says he's all for advancing our country on the technology era :
"I personally believe we will be holding our students back by trying to use 'old school' techniques as opposed to keeping up with the times. This is equivalent to learning how to type, why use a type writer versus a computer ?"
An opposing view:
"I think they need to stick to old fashion teaching and leave all that electronic crap out of the classroom. Besides, that stuff changes so fast that to spend classroom time teaching it would turn out to be a waste of time."
