Tyler police investigate aggravated assault and robbery

On Saturday, October 20, 2012, at approximately 8:45 a.m. , Tyler Police Department Officers responded to the 2000 block of North Carlyle in reference to an assault that had already occurred.
As officers arrived on scene the suspects in the assault had returned again and were assaulting the victim again. The suspects in the case had a machete and a baseball bat with them. Upon further investigation it was determined that the three suspects had actually assaulted and stolen property from Adalberto Garcia, the first time they assaulted him. The same three suspects then came back and assaulted Adalberto Garcia again.
Officers were advised that the incident stems from a possible confrontation that occurred the day before. Manuel Verde -18 yrs old, Adan Gonzalez-17 yrs old, and Martin Ruiz-24 yrs old were arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon, and Robbery. All three subjects were transported and booked into Smith County Jail. The victim in the case sustained minor injuries.
