The blaze initially started as a grass fire that spread to nearby homes.

Red Springs, Lindale, and Dixie volunteer fire crews are on the scene.

Smith County fire crews are fighting a structure fire at 1790 Montgomery Gardens in Tyler.

The fire broke out just before 3:00 pm on Friday.
