Hello, East Texas! Thank you for making me feel at home here.

I'm originally from Omaha, Nebraska, but I came to East Texas from Columbia, Missouri, where I attended the University of Missouri. There, I was a member of the Honors College, Omicron Delta Kappa Honors Society, and First Runner-up to Miss Missouri 2007. I graduated in May 2007 with a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Spanish. Much to my family's chagrin, however, being at Mizzou changed me from a Huskers fan into a Tigers fan!

While in college, I worked at KOMU as a one-woman band. For two years, I was a photographer, reporter, anchor, and producer. While at KOMU, I learned countless lessons about television news from great teachers along with a little trial and error. Lesson number one: working in this business isn't all that glamorous.

I also brushed up on my Spanish by spending three months working at Help Argentina in Buenos Aires translating the organization's website and contacting media around the world. I'm grateful to my family for sticking with me through all these crazy endeavors- I know it wasn't easy!

When I'm not at "the office," I'm usually catching up with family and friends, reading mystery novels, watching T.V. (of course!), or working out.

Since coming to KETK, I've had the privilege of covering your stories. Please contact me if you have a story to share or if you just want to say "hi."
