Nikki Diaz Reporter
Nikki Diaz joined the KETK news team in June 2014. She grew up in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, just a few minutes away from the Country Music Capital.
Nikki attended Western Kentucky University where she graduated with a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Broadcasting. During her time as a Hilltopper, Nikki was a WKU Cheerleader attending the Sun Belt Championships and even the Sweet 16. You can also find Nikki representing her school on Sports Illustrated when she was named “Cheerleader of the Week” back in May 2008.
She returned to Murfreesboro to attend Middle Tennessee State University where she graduated with a degree in Electronic Media Journalism. During Nikki's time as a Blue Raider, Nikki was heavily involved in the multiple award-winning broadcasting program at MTSU. She anchored and reported for their student-run television station, MT10, where she reported on opportunities only held in Nashville, such as the Freedom Sings event, sponsored by the First Amendment Center.
Nikki gained newsroom experience through her time as an intern at Nashville’s News 2, WKRN where she reported on the First Lady of the United States speaking at Fort Campbell with Dr. Jill Biden.
When Nikki is not chasing stories in the field, you can find her trying to navigate the grocery store as she learns to cook her grandmother’s traditional southern recipes.
You can catch Nikki Monday through Friday in the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscast reporting stories that matter to East Texans.
