I have wanted to do TV weather all of my life. I've known what I wanted to be since I was five years old. I became interested in weather while trying to conquer my fear of thunderstorms. I read all of the weather books and watched The Weather Channel quite a bit in my younger years to learn more about storms. It wasn't until April of 1995 when a water spout touched near my hometown that I became serious about becoming an on-air Meteorologist. I knew that I needed to help save lives and try and ease the fears of others during severe weather.
I graduated with a B.S. in Meteorology from Texas A&M in December of 2005. WHOOP! I began working at KETK in November of 2005, a full month before I graduated from Texas A&M. Other than my experience at KETK, I had 2 summers of forecasting and broadcast experience from interning at News Channel 25 in Waco. I am so fortunate to have worked with East Texas legend John Adams for a short time and now with Dallas/Ft Worth legend Scott Chesner, who worked under Harold Taft.
Besides weather, the main interests in my life are my relationship with Jesus Christ, my wonderful wife, and spending as much time as I can with my family and friends. I am so blessed to have my parents and family in Sulphur Springs, grandparents in Jacksonville, and other family members scattered throughout the area to give me support. Some of my interests include playing Guitar Hero, reading Harry Potter, and watching sports. I am a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan and I also like the Cowboys, Rangers, and Stars.
