Your Detailed Forecast From Meteorologist Robert Thornton

10:30 AM Update:

We started the day with pleasant temperatures in the low and mid 60s.  Areas of fog developed mainly in the southern parts of East Texas as the humidity was higher in this area.  Moisture is returning on south and southwest winds ahead of a weak upper level disturbance and it's associated cool front.  This may trigger a few isolated showers in some areas this afternoon and evening, but widespread thunderstorm activity is not expected.  Any storm that gets going is capable of becoming strong with gusty winds and small hail.  In fact, the southern parts of East Texas may see more of the activity during the early evening, but chances are slight.  The muggy weather continues tonight and again Saturday with highs in the mid to upper 80s, even near 90 in the southern areas.  A stronger cold front will approach the area Saturday afternoon and Saturday night, probably triggering a round of thunderstorms.  Some could be heavy with strong winds, heavy rain and some hail.  Behind that front, drier and cooler northerly winds will take over for Sunday making for a great finale' for the weekend with sunshine, highs only in the 70s and lower humidity.  Warmer weather will return early next week with another storm system due Tuesday and Wednesday, giving us more rain and thunderstorm chances.
