A Little Sunshine, Still A Chance of Rain Today

October 14, 2009 - 10:30am

A stationary front remains draped across the area, which will keep rain chances and clouds in the area throughout the day. However, daytime heating is causing some breaks in the cloud cover which is allowing a little sunshine to shine through across parts of the area. A few thunderstorms will also be possible later this afternoon due to the sunshine and peak daytime heating. Again, this threat will mainly be to the South of the stationary front. We'll see showers and thunderstorms increasing along a cold front that will push into the area tomorrow morning. Severe weather doesn't appear to be a big threat right now, but additional heavy rain could irritate flooding concerns in some areas. Behing the front, cooler and drier air moves in producing more sunshine and unseasonably cool temperatures for the weekend.
