EAST TEXAS FORECAST DETAILS:

TONIGHT:  Windy and much colder with rain changing to freezing rain, sleet and snow from .    Mount Pleasant, Pittsburg, Mineola, Canton and Athens: ~ 11 PM.    Linden, Gilmer, Tyler, Longview and Palestine:1 AM- 2 AM.     Marshall, Henderson,  Jacksonville,  Grapeland: 3 AM - 4 AM.     Carthage, Nacogdoches, Groveton: ~6 AM.    Center, San Augustine, Lufkin: 8 AM - 9 AM.  Low temperatures around daybreak; 26-29 North,  28-31 Central (including Tyler and Longview) and 31-34 South.

Likely accumulations:  Northern counties:  Rains, Wood, Upshur, Cass, Morris, Camp, Titus, Franklin and Hopkins:  1"-3" of ice and snow.

Central counties:   Harrison, Gregg, northern Rusk, northern Cherokee, Smith, northern Anderson, Henderson and Van Zandt   0.5"-2.0" of ice and snow.

Southern areas:  Southern Anderson, Houston, southern Cherokee, northern Nacogdoches, Southern Rusk, Panola and Shelby:  Coating to 0.5" of freezing rain and sleet.

Extreme southern areas:  Groveton, Lufkin,  Center, San Augustine and Hemphill:  Little or no accumulation.

Precipitation ending by 8 AM - 10 AM...then cloudy, windy and cold for the rest of the day...Highs: 32-35 North, 35-40 Central and South...Winds N 20 mph.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear and very cold with a hard freeze...Low temperatures: 20-25. Winds NNE , diminishing to 5-10 mph.

FRIDAY: Partly sunny and not quite as cold by afternoon...High near 45...Wind ENE 10 mph.

SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy and cold...Slight chance (20%) of a little rain in Deep East Texas....Temperatures: Low 28, High 50.

SUNDAY: Cloudy and cool with periods of rain (40%)....Low 38,   High 53.
