Hurricane Odile slammed into the Baja California region on Monday. Heavy rainfall has impacted the Baja region earlier this week. Over the last few days, this system has drawn lots of moisture into the desert southwest and into Texas.
THURSDAY LATE EVENING UPDATE:
We had some good rain today in northern and central areas. The cold front has stalled Thursday night along a line from Shreveport to Nacogdoches and just north of College Station.
This week has been a hot and humid week for East Texas. We have been on above average for high temperatures the past five days. Here were the highs for Tyler. Today’s (Thursday) high temperature for Tyler has been 96°.
FRIDAY PM UPDATE:
Good afternoon. I wanted to provide a brief update for the rain chances on Saturday. As mentioned in yesterday’s post, the models were beginning to push the bulk of heavy rainfall to our east.
Thursday 11AM Update:
As expected, we have seen a lot of rainfall from Tyler and to the west and north. There has been some light rain in Deep East Texas this morning as well. Here are the airport totals as of 10:45 AM.
